Description

A progressive Aged Care Organisation with multiple sites in Sydney, and employing over 1,000 people is seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to guide their Organisation. This is senior role within the leadership team.

ABOUT THE ROLE of LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
This role will lead the development, design and delivery of leadership and development strategies to implement the organisation’s strategic and operational requirements.
The Learning & Development Manager creates and implements talent and succession programs, embedding leadership development and drives the Organisation’s values.
Designs employee value propositions through fulfilling our aim to attract, develop and retain employees who share our vision.

STRATEGIC INITIATIVES of LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Responsible for:
• The development, communication and implementation of a learning & development strategy for the Organisation by identifying learning needs, accessing or delivering education/learning interventions and ensuring ongoing assessment of skills and gaps to plan for current and future capability needs.
• To consistently analyse learning outcomes and organisational needs in light of relevant research findings, best practice, workforce trends and legislative requirements.
• To promote a learning culture and work with the People, Culture and Learning teams and other staff to implement the L&D strategic plan.
• Work towards the Organisation being recognised as an ‘Employer of Choice’ and assist in the development and execution of staff engagement programs.
• Design and implement a Talent and Succession program.
• Design, develop and implement programs aimed at leadership development.
• Support Performance Management Framework by implementing initiatives that contribute to a high performance culture.
• In consultation with the General Manager People Culture & Learning, identify and successfully implement a Learning Management System.

OPERATIONAL COORDINATION of LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
• Proactively develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Schedule and where required, facilitate appropriate courses including orientation and mandatory training on a regular and systematic basis across the organisation to achieve 100% compliance.
• In conjunction with the WH&S Advisor, develop and implement targeted training to ensure WH&S compliance and safe work practices.
• Review opportunities to improve course content and method delivery.
• Coordinate external service providers and courses.
• Develop and maintain consistent policies, procedures and data reporting systems.
• Ensure learning opportunities and resources are balanced across all business units.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
• Provide leadership and direction to the Learning & Development team
• Develop a supportive environment that fosters open communication and innovative trouble shooting strategies.
• Establish individual performance plans and establish a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Criteria

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• Bachelor degree in a health-related area such as nursing, physiotherapy or occupational therapy
• Certificate IV – Workplace Assessment and Training
• A strong background in Learning and Development and a proven track record in the design and delivery of outstanding training solutions to support organisational growth and development
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior Learning and Development role
• The ability to support management to identify and grow their staff using innovative tools
• Excellent presentation and influencing skills
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities to meet organisational goals
• Intermediate to advanced skills computer skills
• Knowledge of funding opportunities and certificate courses
